Really like your tunes! found one of these and am really thinking of getting it but wanted to ask a couple of questions, if I may, since there doesn't seem to be a ton of info about these. I would like to run it through the marantz and see how it sounds: Thanks very much!Īlso, below is a link to one of my tunes, an early mix where I used the plate for the first time (except on the drums and tambo as I still need to work out some kinks). How did you go about making a stereo master? Are you sending busses into each channel? I was just wondering how the panning would work otherwise.Īlso, on "what she knows", the reverb on the backing vox sounds really great, do you mind sharing what reverb you used for that? I actually just finished building a plate reverb (just for fun) that I'm hoping to incorporate with the Marantz somehow, but Im still fine tuning it. Bare with me, Ive only used a tascam 488 OR Reaper, never both together I track directly to it then transfer that to cubase, where i use plugins and edit it up, then send it back out through the board for a stereo master.Really like your tunes! found one of these and am really thinking of getting it but wanted to ask a couple of questions, if I may, since there doesn't seem to be a ton of info about these. Just doesnt have the vibe, always sounds flat in comparison. It actually has 8 inputs, its a 6 channel mixer with an additional 2 on the back as a line in which has its own volume control, as I have an 8 channel interface its perfect for sending my separate channels through it for analogue summing.įor anyone that asks why dont I just record directly to cubase my answer is that I have lots of times and it never sounds as good, particularly acoustic guitars and piano. I track directly to it then transfer that to cubase, where i use plugins and edit it up, then send it back out through the board for a stereo master. Heres a recording I did with it, as you'll see from the organic sound I go for which is capturing real instruments playing melodic songs (very 60's) its a perfect tool. With good chrome tapes it really has a good sound! Just wondered if anybody else has one and what they think of it? I feel alone owning one of these and anybody that has 4 tracks never seem to have heard of them. Hi, I have been recording on one of these babys for about 3 years,I got it on ebay for peanuts in brand new condition, it seems they were made right when cassettes were dying out circa 2000 and didnt sell well, but they are really as high end as a portastudio can get!
